COMMITTED TO IMPLEMENTING THE UN SUSTAINABILITY GOALS

At Rock Wallaby OUR planning, operations, procurement and partnerships embed sustainability at its core. WE work with people and organisations to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.

“Sustainability is no longer about doing less harm. It’s about doing more good.” Jochen Zeitz

The SCORPIONS RUGBY COLLECTIVE NETWORK is a partnership between the Rock Scorpions Rugby Club, Rock Wallaby, Newton Store, the Open Award Centre (The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award Gibraltar) and the Commissioner for Sustainability Development and Future Generations . The collective aims to meet the following UN Sustainability Development Goals: Goal 4 – Quality Education; Goal 12 Responsible Consumption & Production; Goal 10 Reduced Inequality; Goal 13 Climate Action and Goal 17 Partnerships for the Goals. The Collective is an initiative asking people to donate their old working laptops. COVID-19 restrictions have meant that our children and young people are needing to learn from home and rely on online communication and platforms. The reality is that not every child in Gibraltar has a device to access the internet for online learning offered by their schools. The collective believes this work is vital to many young people who will now be able to stay connected and continue their education during (Covid Pandemic) lock down .

OUR award winning work (with the 2019 NatWest International Island Games) in sustainability and climate action has been recognised at HM Government of Gibraltar 2020 GIBRALTAR SUSTAINABILITY AWARDS

CATEGORY WINNER for: ‘Sustainable Events’ and ‘Sustainability in Sport and Leisure’
